General Information
Term larval dopaminergic DL2 neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110344 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Dopaminergic neuron whose cell body is located in the posteromedial protocerebrum of the larval brain, ventral to the DL1 cluster (Monastirioti, 1999). There are around 6 of these neurons per hemisphere (Selcho et al., 2009; Hartenstein et al., 2017). It persists into adulthood to become a PPL2 neuron (Hartenstein et al., 2017).[ FlyBase:FBrf0108241 FlyBase:FBrf0208252 FlyBase:FBrf0234128 ]

Comment Dopaminergic cells were identified by double labeling with a tyrosine hydroxylase (anti-TH) antibody and a TH-GAL4 driver (FBtp0020119) (Selcho et al., 2009).
