Non-directional local neuron that is restricted to layer 6 of the medulla. Its soma is in the ventral region of the lateral cell body rind. This neuron arborizes in the posterior dorsal region of the M6 layer, covering around 80 columns. This neuron subtype includes GABAergic neurons, among other neurotransmitters.[ FlyBase:FBrf0226257 ]

The GABAergic neurotransmitter was assessed by labelling cells with an antibody against GABA (Chin et al., 2014).
