Description
Description
Tyramine receptors belong to the Class A GPCR family. In mammalian systems, tyramine is a member of the trace amines, but in insects octopamine and tyramine are thought to be the main neurotransmitters. (Adapted from PMID:17088868, FBrf0214056 and FBrf0190865).
Notes on Group

The Oct-TyrR receptor is listed in both OCTOPAMINE and TYRAMINE RECEPTORS gene groups as it is member of the Octopamine/Tyramine receptors. Octopamine/Tyramine receptors can bind both ligands, and display agonist-specific coupling. They preferentially bind tyramine (FBrf0221114).
