The mitotic cohesin complex forms a ring-like structure which encircles sister chromatids holding them together after mitotic DNA replication. (Adapted from FBrf0207490).
Notes on Group
The cohesin ring is formed by a SMC heterodimer and a kleisin. The regulatory subunit, SA, is required for de novo association of cohesin with chromatin (FBrf0173282).
