Description

Dyneins are minus end-directed microtubule motor protein complexes. Dynein light chains are involved in dynein complex assembly and interact with specific dynein adaptor proteins. (Adapted from PMID:19935668 and PMID:24064538).

Notes on Group

Dynein light chains are a multi-family gene group. The light chains are apparently more promiscuous than either intermediate or heavy chains with particular light chains being found in several dynein complexes (FBrf0230622).
