Electron transfer flavoprotein complex is an FAD-containing heterodimer that functions as a soluble electron carrier between various flavoprotein dehydrogenases to membrane-bound ETF ubiquinone oxidoreductase (Etf-QO), which reduces ubiquinone to ubiquinol which enters the mitochondrial respiratory chain.
