Description
Description
Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels are transmembrane channels specific for potassium, activated by changes in membrane potential. During action potentials, Kv channels are crucial in returning the depolarized cell to a resting state. Kv channels are formed from the α subunits. Auxiliary β subunits can associate and regulate channel activity. (Adapted from FBrf0224790, PMID:16382097 and PMID:11121510).
