The MADF-BESS domain proteins are transcriptional regulators with N-terminal MADF (Myb-SANT-like in Adf) domain followed by a C-terminal BESS (BEAF-32, Su(var)3-7, stwl-like) domain. The MADF domain directs sequence-specific DNA binding, while the BESS domain directs a variety of protein-protein interactions. These domains are closely related to SANT-Myb helix-turn-helix domain.
