Ski2-like RNA helicases are large multidomain proteins that belong to helicase superfamily 2. Named for their founding member in S. cerevisiae, Ski2, Ski2-like RNA helicases play important roles in RNA degradation, processing and splicing pathways. As helicases, they process RNAs in a 3'-5' direction. They generally function as parts of larger complexes and in many cases appear to act as a platform for complex assembly.
