Voltage-gated Ca[2+] channels (CACN) allow the influx of extracellular Ca[2+] in response to plasma membrane depolarization. stg1 has not been included in the VOLTAGE-GATED CALCIUM CHANNEL ACCESSORY SUBUNITS gene group. Although it is homologous to human voltage-gated calcium channel auxiliary gamma subunits, but has been shown to be a regulator of glutamate receptor activity (FBrf0193948).
