Description
Description
3'-phosphoadenosine-5'-phosphosulfate (PAPS) is synthezised in the cytosol by the bifunctional enzyme Papss from sulfate and two molecules of ATP. It is either used in the cytosol or transported into the Golgi where it acts as sulfate donor for the sulfation of various molecules including proteins and glycosaminoglycan proteoglycans.
