Description
SVWC proteins contain a single von Willebrand factor type C domain and are predicted to be secreted. SVC domains possess eight cysteines, two fewer than the 10-cysteine canonical pattern of most VWC domains, and are largely restricted to arthropods. Many SVWC proteins are not expressed during development, and misexpression has no apparent effect on development or viability. (Adapted from FBrf0200806.)

'CG12677' listed in FBrf0225556 was subsequently reannotated as the dicistronic genes CG34177 and CG34178 - both genes encode a protein with a SVWC domain and are included in this group. 'CG6301' listed in FBrf0225556 was subsequently reannotated as CG34459 and CG34460 - only CG34460 encodes a SVWC protein and is included in this group. 'BK03543' listed in FBrf0225556 was subsequently reannotated as a pseudogene and is not included in this group. CG34215 was not listed in FBrf0225556, but is predicted to encode a protein with a SVWC domain (IPR029277) and is therefore included here.
