Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Factor C region may be found to contain one or more genes concerned with sterility.
The observed sterility associated with introgression of the distal one fourth of the D.simulans X chromosome into the D.mauritiana and D.sechellia genome is due to the replacemnt of D.simulans factors by at least two (for D.sechellia) or three (for D.mauritiana) interacting genetic elements. Introgression of Dmau\fixC or Dsim\fixC cannot cause male sterility.
