This report includes links to reviews and general information on fly models of deafness and hearing loss. Related Drosophila disease models include both nonsyndromic deafness and syndromes that include deafness or hearing loss. In addition, Drosophila orthologs of several genes required for assembly of dynein arms and implicated in ciliary dyskinesia in human have been found to affect auditory perception in flies.
