Imp binds to the distal osk 3\'UTR with Kd = 770 nM (much weaker than the Imp-grk RNA interaction), but not to bcd RNA (negative control).
Labeled osk RNA was incubated with purified Imp protein, then filtered through nitrocellulose in filter binding buffer. The amount of bound osk was determined by scintillation counting.
