Sets of transgenic insertion stocks utilizing the GAL4-UAS system to drive regulated expression of genes proximate to the site of the insertion. The GAL4-UAS system is a binary system using Scer\GAL4, a yeast transcription activator protein gene, and Scer\UAS, the DNA binding site for the GAL4 protein. Each of the constructs in this collection carries Scer\UAS binding sites plus a core promoter oriented to direct transcription from adjacent genomic sequences. Genes proximate to an insertion and properly oriented with respect to the Scer\UAS+promoter sequences can be conditionally expressed via transgene-derived Scer\GAL4 activity.
