Subject: Re: T(1;2;3)878.3 The dreaded T(1;2;3)878.3 is in FlyBase terms: TS3C(1;3)sc260-15 + TS2C(2;3)H38 + TS2C(2;3)DTD61 T(2;3)DTD61 = T(2;3) 40D-F ; 100A (formerly T(2;3)518.18) T(2;3)H38 = T(2;3) 41A ; 71C1-2 (formerly T(2;3)514.2-2-192) (Originally, I thought the cytology was 40B-D, but on reexamination, I corrected the proximal 2 breakpoint to 41A. I don't know if the original cytology was posted anywhere, but I'm telling you in case you run into it and are perplexed as to which is correct.) T(1;3)sc260-15 = T(1;3) 1B4-5 ; 71C-D (Hmmm? My notes say 71D-E. I can't find the original data that explains this update; it may be through my own examination, or it might be someone else -- perhaps Michael. You may want to check with Peter Cherbas on the current status of the cytology. I made this construct to help with EIP28/29 region genetics for him.) The rearranged chromosomes are ordered as follows: 1t--1B4-5 | 71C-D (or 71D-E)--100t 61t--71C1-2 | 41A -- 21t 60t--40D-F | 100A--100t This is deleted for the interval between the 71C1-2 breakpoint of H38 and the 71C-whatever breakpoint of T(1;3)sc260-15. Further, we know from molecular mapping of breakpoints that the H38 breakpoint was distal to the sc260-15 breakpoint. Bill
