Subject: Re: Your unstrung gene record
Bill,
You can actually delete this. This is a long story but the initial name
was given based on the revertant phenotype of an enhancer trap that ended
up deleting more than the initial gene that we were interested in. We
eventually published, under the name kekkon1 <up>Musacchio, M., Perrimon, N.
(1996) The Drosophila kekkon genes: novel members of both the leucine-rich
repeat and immunoglobulin superfamilies expressed in the CNS. Dev Biol 178
63-76.</up>, the gene that corresponded to the enhancer trap.
Best wishes,
Norbert
