Subject: Ly region complementation groups of Holly Irick and Peter Cherbas
A screen for EMS-induced mutations that fail to complement Df(3L)BK10 was
made by Holly Irick in Peter Cherbas' lab in 1988. The Df(3L)BK10
chromosome was marked with Ly1 (=Df(3L)Ly); consequently, two lethal
complementation groups were defined in the 70A region which Irick and
Cherbas called Ly-1 and Ly-2. Alleles include:
Complementation group	Allele
Ly-1				E1
				E2
				E53
				E54
				E58
				E64
				E69
Ly-2				E70
All mutations were induced in a red1 e1 chromosome.
