Eric Spana
Eric Spana and Martin Zeidler, Harvard University have developed
P{UAS-EGFP} and P{UAS-srcEGFP} lines. The following information from Eric
Spana accompanied the stocks (September 1999).
EGFP is a version of GFP from Clonetech that has two brightness/folding
enhancing mutations and has been optimized for human codon usage.
P{UAS-EGFP} constructs contain the Clonetech EGFP in the P{UAST} vector
with the Drosophila translation initiation sequence substituted for the
human initiation sequence upstream of the initiation codon. Insertions of
P{UAS-EGFP} include:
P{w+mC=UAS-EGFP}8 chromosome 1 localization unknown
P{w+mC=UAS-EGFP}5a.2 chromosome 2 29C
P{w+mC=UAS-EGFP}34 chromosome 3 86E13-18
Localization of P{UAS-EGFP}5a.2 and P{UAS-EGFP}34 was by P1 grid.
The P{UAS-EGFP} constructs and insertions were made by Martin Zeidler
P{w+mC=UAS-srcEGFP} constructs contain the 14 amino acid myristylation
domain of v-src fused to the Clonetech EGFP with the consensus Drosophila
translation start site in P{UAST}. Insertions include:
P{w+mC=UAS-srcEGFP}M7A chromosome1 localization unknown
P{w+mC=UAS-srcEGFP}M7E chromosome2 localization unknown
The P{UAS-srcEGFP} constructs and insertions were made by Eric Spana.
All insertions are homozygous viable and fertile.
