Hi,
The flybase genes misshapen (msn) and CG16973 are the same. In addition, the
reference sequences for msn don't cover the protein-coding region of the gene,
but this is available from genbank protein record gi|7512005 (the record cites
the msn cloning paper, and the sequence in that matches the sequence in the
genbank record). This sequence is a clear match to the protein sequence of
CG16973.
