Gene annotation error
Gene CG9204 has incorrect exon/intron structure.
Comments: Celera have annotated 3 variant for Ate1:
AE003793; AAF57496
AE003793; AAF57497
AE003793; AAF57498
AAF57496 is the correct one, the other tow have incorrect splice sites.
AAF57497 has an incorrect splice site at the beginning of exon 3, it is in
frame and encodes for an extra 7 amino acids.
AAF57498 has a wrong splice site at the end of exon 2, encodes a unique exon 3
but the remainder of the exons are out of phase suggesting the unique exon is
wrong.
Also, Kwon et al, Molec. Cell. Biol. 19(1):182-193(1999) failed to find an
alternative exon in Drosophila that exists in human and mouse, suggesting that
Drosophila does not have alternative splicing for this protein.
