Df(3R)LK19-1 was recovered as a P transposase-induced male recombination event between a chromosome bearing P{PZ}l(3)0569705697 and an e1-marked chromosome. The deletion breakpoints were determined from sequences flanking the P element before and after the male recombination event. The sequence flanking the 5' (distal) end of the original P{PZ}l(3)0569705697 insertion is
5'-TTTGTAGTTGAAAAATATGTTCGCATCTGTGGAATTAAGCTCATATCGCGATC-3'
as determined from sequencing the inverse PCR product following Sau3A digestion and ligation. This sequence falls within genomic scaffold AE003721. The sequence flanking the 5' end of the P element in the deletion chromosome is
5'-GGCGGCTGTGCTGATAGAGAAGAAGAGGAAGAAAGATC-3'
as determined from sequencing the inverse PCR product following Sau3A digestion and ligation. This sequence falls within genomic scaffold AE003722.
