Subject: Re: FlyBase query: abstract 1049B
Dear Dr. Millburn,
In release 3 of genome annotation, multiple is CG31719 and yumo is CG6187.
CG31719 is merged by CG13143 and CG7475 of the release 2.
multiple and yumo may correspond to 'Scim16', Sensitized chromosome
inheritance modifiers .
Sequence analysis off ends of P{SUPor-P} in Scim insertion mutant places
'Scim16' near/in 'CG13143' or 'CG6187'. (Genetics, 2001, 157:1623 ).
However, the insertion site is not clear.
By sequence analysis, Multiple and Yumo contain the pseudouridine synthase 2
domain which is shared by the RluA-family pseudouridine synthase of E.
coli.
Therefore, it may be more appropriate to rename multiple as RluA-1 and yumo
as RluA-2.
Thanks,
CT
