Subject: l(3)s3635 is inserted in CG8947 I have unpublished information on the mutant l(3)s3635 that you may want to curate as a personal communication. The flanking sequence (GenBank AQ026395 ) of the P-element insertion in l(3)s3635, aligns with scaffold segment AE003536 with a small indel. The insertion site maps to coordinate 254413, which is at \+8 of the 5' UTR of the 26-29 kD proteinase gene (CG8947), according to the current release 3 annotations. Another P-element, KG00154, is inserted at the same nucleotide site; KG00154 is homozygous viable and fertile, raising the possibility that the P-element insertion in l(3)s3635 may not be responsible for the lethality. Both l(3)s3635 and KG00154 are currently available from the Bloomington Stock Center. \-- \------------------------------------ Robert W.
