Gene or accession: CG32099 Release: 3 Gene annotation error I have new supporting evidence or functional assignment for gene CG32099. Comments: \*correspondence to Our in vitro assays showed that the coded protein transfers phosphopantetheine to the thiolation domain of the ebony protein (FBgn 0000527). This reaction depends on CoA and is therefore homologous to the reaction catalyzed by microbial phosphopantetheine transferases. We therefore propose that CG32099 is a Drosophila phosphopantetheine transferase and since it converts apo-Ebony to holo-Ebony named it Ebony Activating Protein (EAP).
