The gene corresponds to CG10335 gene product and was identified as PBGS on the basis of a blast search that I ran on 4/26/2000. The record for CG10335 does not identify the gene as encoding porphobilinogen synthase (a.k.a. 5-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase). Although we confirmed the sequence, we did not deposit it in the databases. > >This information will allow me to make sure that the information in >your paper gets attached to the correct CG gene record in FlyBase, >otherwise we may end up with duplicate records in FlyBase for what is >actually the same gene, > >thanks, > >Gillian > >-------------------------------------------------------------- >Gillian Millburn. > >FlyBase (Cambridge), > >-------------------------------------------------------------- > Please feel free to contact me if you need additional information. \-- \----------------------------------- Eileen K.
