Subject:  Unannotated gene
Dear FlyBase,
I have stumbled upon an unannotated gene- it codes for the ortholog to the
human mitochondrial ribosomal protein MRPL34 (NP_076426), and as such
should be named mRpL34 in D.melanogaster.  This gene is supported by
just 4 ESTs (which is average for the MRP genes of Dm).  I've had a go
at working out the gene structure and predicted protein- see
attachment.
Hopefully you can validate my analyses and give this gene a name and gene
report.  ...
