Dear Fernando,
I have recently curated your 2007 Development paper (Felix et al., 2007
Development 134(10): 1845--1852) for FlyBase. Would you be able to help
me clear up a question to help complete this curation?
I'm rather confused by the rescue experiment described at the end of the
first paragraph of the results section: "We were able to rescue the
lethality of the heterozygous combination nabl(3)SH143/NP3537Gal4 with
EP#13."
As all 3 of these insertions are in or adjacent to nab, how could an
animal with all three be generated? A recombination between any two of
these 3 seems v.unlikely. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the description
or the details of the genetics? Or maybe there is a typo?
Either way, any extra details or explanation you could send would be
most useful.
