1) We suggest renaming P{GAL4}AC-62: P{GawB}nubbin-AC-62
We have been in communication with Jose de Celis, who provided the following information. The insertion we describe as nubbin-Gal4 is described in:
Calleja M, Moreno E, Pelaz S, Morata G. Visualization of gene expression in living adult Drosophila. Science. 1996 Oct 11;274(5285):252-5.
Ruiz Gómez, A et al (2005) Conserved cross-interactions in Drosophila and Xenopus between RAS/MAPK signaling and the dual-specificity phosphatase MKP3 Dev. Dyn. 232: 695-708.
This insertion is currently designated P{GAL4}AC-62 in FlyBase. The GAL4 construct used by Morata et al. (as described in 1996 paper) is P{GawB}; this insertion has been used extensively as a marker for nubbin. Thus, after consultation with Lynn Crosby, we propose using the insertion symbol "P{GawB}nubbin-AC-62".
2) Suggest renaming P{GAL4}salm[LP39]: P{GawB}salm[LP39]
The insertion we describe as spalt-Gal4 is described in:
Llimargas, M. (2000). wingless and its signalling pathway have common and separable functions during tracheal development. Development 127(20): 4407--4417.
The paper says "LP39 (salGAL4, provided by M. Calleja and G. Morata) in a sal pattern of expression." Again, the construct is that used by Morata et al., P{GawB}.
3) We use an insertion of P{bs-Gal4.Term} on the second chromosome that is not currently in FlyBase; we have designated this insertion P{bs-Gal4.Term}G1.
4) We use an insertion of P{GAL4-Mef2.R} on the second chromosome that is not currently in FlyBase; we have designated this insertion P{GAL4-Mef2.R}R1.
