Dear Flybase,
We are sending back the proofs for a paper characterizing the gene CG8443. We have named it "clueless", abbreviated "clu" because the homologs in other species are called "clu". However, I see that the gene "abrupt" has a synonym "clueless" from 1993. Furthermore, my abstracts from various fly meetings have been incorrectly placed on the abrupt gene site. Could you please correct this?
