Subject: Re: FB Help Mailer: 639 Personal communication Dear Steven Thank you for the information and uploading the tables and information to the fly web site. I am glad the updated information was helpful and now more accurate. We did find the mistake on the one gene bHLHb39 and made the correction in the new tables. This was the fly homolog for Hes. Currently you can list this as a personnel communication, but we are preparing an updated review paper with all the corrections and additions from the original paper. Once this gets accepted in few months I will let you know for more accurate referencing. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you for including our nomenclature on your fly database. Cheers, Michael -- > Dear Michael, Thanks for this update and addressing the points from my previous mail. I curated the data, including all synonyms, from your original paper (FBrf0206485) and its supplementary material (FBrf0207629) a few months ago, and this formed part of the FB_2009_04 website update back in April. I checked the data in your revised tables, concentrating on the new fly-specific Table 3. The only data not consistent with my original curation appears to be that you now call h/CG6494 'bHLHb39' whereas previously (in FBrf0207629) you called it'bHLHc14'. I can easily correct this in FlyBase. But should I attribute this change to this email exchange (making it into a 'personal communication to FlyBase'), or have your revised tables been integrated into the official publication record at the 'Differentiation' journal website - in which case I can attribute the change to the original publication (FBrf0206485)? Also let me know if you think any other corrections/updates are warranted. There have been some corrections and I have addressed all the issues you raised at the time. Table 3 enclosed has the fly table with the corrections you requested. The Table 1 shows the interspecies comparison corrected. Table 2 lists the entire gene family for the seven species. Hopefully these corrections help and you can put the updated information on your web site. Please let me know if any additional information is required. Thank you for considering using the new unified nomenclature. Sincerely, Michael
