I was checking over the genomic organization and relationship between Doa (CG42320) and its D. virilis orthologue, part of which we published in in 2008, comparing protein sequences (Kpebe A, Rabinow L. Genesis. 2008; 46:132-43 ). It was curious to see that the D. vir orthologue of Doa was NOT listed on Gbrowse and so I went a bit further. Here are some observations, if anyone cares:
   1) the synteny between D. mel and D. vir extends perfectly between CG33203 and Doa. The genes lie next to each other in D.vir but are separated by a bit more material.
   2) D.vir GJ24404 and GJ24405 are BOTH part of the single Doa orthologue; this is NOT experimental evidence but there are multiple N-termini for Doa, which are arranged identically in D. vir, albeit with different spacing among themselves and with the catalytic domain of the kinase. The alignments of these N-termini may be found in the supplementary material to the reference above (or I can send it if you would like). There are more of them than noted in the Flybase D.vir annotation for the moment. If you wish I'd be happy to help with getting the correct predicted gene structure established.
Along that line, the Doa 55 kD isoform coding sequences (RM, RV, RQ, RS, RW) align with GJ24404 from D.vir. Sequences coding the Doa 69 kD protein (RT, RJ, RN, RU) align with D. vir sequence a bit further "upstream." We have confirmed that these sequences are indeed expressed in D. virilis via RT-PCR.
I hope this is of interest or can be of help to someone.
