Hereby I would like to submit some unpublished data concerning CycA3 (synonym: l(3)183). The corresponding mutant chromosome has been isolated originally by Hoogwerf et al., 1988, Genetics 118, 665-670 (FBrf0048238). Accordingly, the mutant alleles vin and app are expected to be present. We have previously reported that the chromosome carries a deletion which removes the CycA gene (Lehner et al., 1991, CSH Symp. Quant. Biol. 56, 465-475, FBrf0053446). We have performed additional PCR analyses to characterize the extent of the deletion in further detail. According to our results, the deletion does not only remove CycA and the gene CG7264 that is located within the large CycA intron, but also the flanking genes CG12521, CG34420, CG32095, RpL10Ab/CG7283. Additional genes have not been analyzed and thus the deletion might be even larger.
