The following information accompanied stocks donated to the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center by Elane Fishilevich, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
P{UAS-pHMA} (FBtp0056182) expresses pHluorin (FBal0190981), a ratiometric pH-sensitive GFP fused to the actin-binding domain of Moesin under the control of UAS. UAS-pHMA can be used to visualize phagocytosis of apoptotic cells in Drosophila tissues based on their acidification in the apoptotic phagosome. Prior to engulfment, pHMA localizes at the cortex and fluoresces at 470 nm (green). In dying cells, pHMA is internalized and fluoresces at 415 nm (red). See reference: Fishilevich, E., et al. (2010) (FBrf0209857).
P{UAS-pHMA}1.4 is an insertion on the second chromosome.
P{UAS-pHMA}1.5A is an insertion on the second chromosome.
P{UAS-pHMA}1.10 is an insertion on the third chromosome.
P{UAS-pHMA}1.5B is an insertion on the third chromosome.
