Hi,
We have precalculated heatmap representations of our SliceSeq data (the search feature is at http://eisenlab.org/sliceseq/). It would be nice to display the heatmaps directly on FlyBase report pages as well.
I've spent some time over the last couple weeks working up these images for FlyBase. They're in SVG so that a user can actually hover over them and get the absolute FPKM values for a given slice in the heat map.
I've rescaled the images so each virtual embryo is ~190x80 pixels, which is approximately the same size as the images from FlyExpress, and I think helps reinforce the idea that one should be able to treat the results approximately the same. This works out to two rows of 3 and one row of 1, fitting within the 629 pixel wide External Data & Images section of the report.
I noticed that a new version of FlyBase went live a couple weeks ago, so I recompiled the images for r5.53.
