P{EP}ex87 was isolated upon imprecise excision of P{EP}CG5036G13239 to generate Dhitex87 as described in the Supplemental Experimental Procedures of Lin et al. (2014) "Double Suppression of the Galpha Protein Activity by RGS Proteins", Molecular Cell 53: 663–671 (FBrf0224418).  It is located on chromosome 2, but is otherwise unmapped.
