The following information accompanied a stock donated to the Bloomington Stock Center by Janos Szabad, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi University.
Janos Szidonya generated Df(3R)ED5218 as a FLP-induced recombinant chromosome from P{RS3}CB-5275-3 (FBti0028489) and P{RS5}lds5-HA-1872 (FBti0029769) progenitors. The recombinant construct P{3'.RS5+3.3'}ED5218 was generated by recombination between the progenitor insertions. Df(3R)ED5218 deletes  3R:3737569 ;3746245 (R5) and has predicted cytological breakpoints 84E5;84E5. It fails to complement lds (FBgn0002542) mutations.
