Thank you for your question about the Schip149 deletion.
The reported deletion of 794 bp described in our report refers to the deletion of coding sequence (CDS). The actual genomic DNA deleted in the Schip149 mutant is 977bp including intron sequences.
The 977bp deletion corresponds to the 1290-2266bp region according to the Schip1 ‘gene region’ data shown in FlyBase (2L: 10329826-10328850), and should include the GS12074 insertion site ( 2L:10329820 ).
The deletion removes 265aa corresponding to amino acids 227 to 491, not 241-506 as reported.
