For the atlasΔ deletion, the adjacent bases are:
 2R:23284297 and 2R:23285665 . Thus, the deletion removes the bases 2R:23284298..23285664 .
A check of the sequencing data of the allele reconfirms that there were no random bases inserted or deleted by the NHEJ-mediated deletion.
The sequence surrounding the deletion is:
...tatcaaaaacgtcagagtatttatcgtattgtatatttccaaattacttgttatcacatc deletion gatgccattttagaatagtaaagtgttgaatagcattcaattaaattaaa...
For CG33284, two null alleles were generated (called CG33284C and CG33284D)
For CG33284C, the last undisturbed upstream base was
3L:21123874 , and the first undisturbed downstream base was 3L:21124785 .
The intervening sequence ( 3L:21123875..21124785 ) was replaced with a short NHEJ insertion with sequence: aactgaactgaa
For CG33284D, it was a clean deletion with no insertion into it. It mapped to the same coordinates as allele C ( 3L:21123875..21124785 ), just without the extra bit inserted.
