P{UAS-SPLICS.l} is a split-GFP-based sensor for contact sites between mitochondria and ER with a 40-50 nm range. It is composed of spGFP11 localized to the ER and spGFP1-10 targeted to the outer mitochondrial membrane under the control of UAS. When mitochondria and ER are in close proximity, reconstitution of split-GFP results in fluorescence. It is similar to P{UAS-SPLICS.s} (FBtp0151686) from Hewitt et al., 2022 (FBrf0253994) but has a slightly longer spacer for reporting wider contact sites. Made by Alessio Vagnoni.
P{UAS-SPLICS.l}2 is a homozygous viable and fertile insertion on the second chromosome.
P{UAS-SPLICS.l}3 is a homozygous viable insertion on the third chromosome.
