The following information accompanied stocks donated to the Bloomington Stock Center by Lenny Rabinow, Harvard Medical School.
According to Genexel, Inc., which isolated it, P{EP}Saf-BG20742 is an insertion at  3R:24819035--24819039  (R6) disrupting the Saf-B gene. The insertion site lies at the middle of the following sequence:

P{EP}Saf-BG20742 is oriented so that it presumably expresses an antisense RNA resulting in Saf-B knockdown in combination with GAL4 drivers. Rough eyes are seen in combination with a GMR-GAL4 driver. This phenotype is enhanced by simultaneous ectopic expression of the 55 kD or 69 kD Doa isoforms in the same cells.
