The following information accompanied stocks donated to the Bloomington Stock Center by Rick Fehon, University of Chicago.
P{UAS-ex.RNAi.F} is a pP{WIZ}-based construct for RNAi knockdown of ex expression constructed by the methods of Lee and Carthew (2003; FBrf0160727). A 446 bp fragment was PCR amplified from ex exon 5 (bases 694 to 1120), cut with XbaI and subcloned into pBSK prior to subcloning into the AvrII and NheI sites in pP{WIZ}, resulting in the two copies of the fragment lying in a tail-to-tail orientation. 
P{UAS-ex.RNAi.F}9 is a homozygous viable and fertile, third chromosome insertion.
P{UAS-ex.RNAi.F}1 is a homozygous viable and fertile, second chromosome insertion.
