          The ems upstream enhancer mediates embryonic expression in a dorsolateral patch in segment A8 (which includes the primordia of the posterior spiracles) in an Abd-B-dependent manner. An internal 1.0kb EcoRI-XhoI fragment is bound by a Dfd/Abd-B chimeric protein (containing the Abd-B homeodomain).
