    The JW18DOX is a cell line in which Wolbachia infection of the JW18 progenitor cell line was removed by treatment with doxycycline to generate a Wolbachia-free version. The cell line was originally treated with doxycycline in late 2010 and thereafter maintained in normal culturing media without doxycycline.
