Description

A set of transgenic insertion stocks derived by TE mobilization using the P-element construct P{Mae-UAS.6.11}. The P{Mae-UAS.6.11} construct carries the yellow marker y+t7.7, and Scer\UAS binding sites for the Scer\GAL4 transcriptional regulator. The GAL4-UAS system allows regulated expression of genes proximate to the site of the insertion: genes properly oriented with respect to the Scer\UAS sequences can be conditionally expressed via transgene-derived Scer\GAL4 activity.

There is a deletion at the 5' end of the inserted element in the P{3'Mae-UAS.6.11}LA00286 insertion. This removes the terminal 22-23bp of the inserted element relative to P{Mae-UAS.6.11} and also removes an undetermined sequence of the flanking DNA. The 5' terminally-deleted element (P{3'Mae-UAS.6.11}) is joined to flanking genomic DNA at reference genomic sequence location 2L:21813055..21813056 (release 6). The flanking sequence at the 3' end of the transposon has not been determined.
