Insertion is the result of P-element remobilization in CkIIβmbuP1 flies. As the CkIIβmbuP1 allele is associated with the insertion of two P{lacW} elements into the 5' region of CkIIβ (P{lacW}CkIIβmbuP1a and P{lacW}CkIIβmbuP1b), either insertion could be the progenitor.
