EcollexANV4 drives expression in a large subset of gustatory receptor neurons (GRNs) of the labellum which project to regions PMS1-3 of the posterior maxillary sensory center, to the AMS1 region of the anterior maxillary center and to regions LS1 and LS2 of the labial sensory center. Expression is also detected in olfactory receptor neurons of the antenna and the maxillary palp. Labeling is also observed in a subset of mechanosensory neurons of the maxillary palp and in Johnston organ neurons. Labeled GRNs of the oesophagus project to the VPS1 region of the inferior pharyngeal sensory center and to PMS1 of the posterior maxillary sensory center.
