Produced from P{RS3}CB-0127-3 located at 61A5. First, FLP recombinase was used to remove part of the w gene, rendering the gene nonfunctional. The method of P-element substitution was then used to move P{inv.FRT}, which carries a functional w+mW.hs gene adjacent to inverted FRTs, from the second chromosome to the site of the P{RS3} remnant at the tip of 3L.
