Mutated promoter regions from an amplified 1756bp fragment of the Cat gene (-1030 to +18 with respect to the transcription initiation site), in which substitution mutations are found in the DRE (DNA replication-related element) in the 5' flanking region, are inserted upstream of lacZ coding sequence.
